Hello! My name is Melissa Schoeni and I’m the artist behind Creative Grey. Based in my hometown of Miami, FL, I love creating pieces that have a hint of whimsy and a modern take on feminine style.

As a graphic designer/art director for 15 + years, I used branding design to create campaigns that were visually striking and communicated a clear message. With my watercolor art, I take a loose and intuitive approach, creating compositions that move through the page with a fresh and delicate aesthetic.

Many of my pieces incorporate intricate pen work, creating a beautiful dance of color and texture, while others embrace the soft flow of paint, characteristic of watercolor.

While my love for loose florals and fanciful birds is evident, the pieces closest to my heart are my collection of feminine figures. Accompanied with organic shapes, they depict our connection to all things invisible, such as intuition, creative inspiration, and spirituality.

If I’m not painting, you can find me running around with my 4-year-old daughter and spending time with my husband, teenage step-daughter and scruffy dog.
